Dentures

mgill_1A denture is a means to filling one or multiple gaps. Dentures can be made in acrylic or chrome.

If a denture is the only option to replace missing teeth, then we will take care to ensure they made to fit perfectly.

Keeping a Denture or Bridge Clean

Dentures and bridges collect food debris and plaque just like natural teeth and need to be kept clean to stop decay in other teeth and avoid gun disease.

Dentures should be cleaned mechanically - with a toothbrush - over a bowl or sink of water in case they are dropped.

You can use toothpaste, or even soap and water, then rinse thoroughly.

Denture soaking solutions are available. Ask the dentist about using them. The dentures must still be cleaned with a brush as the soaking will not fully clean it.

Dentures should, if possible, be removed from the mouth for at least 4-6 hours, but preferably 8 hours, in every 24. If this is not practical then ensure the denture is cleaned regularly with a brush and toothpaste.
